The City of
North Wildwood covers
an area 1.8 square miles along the southern New Jersey Coast on land identified as "Five Mile Beach". It shares this "beach" with the City of Wildwood, the Boroughs of West Wildwood and Wildwood Crest, and a portion of Lower Township. The City is located in Cape May County, approximately 30 miles south of Atlantic City and ten miles north of Cape May City.

The North Wildwood Fire Department is dedicated to providing the highest quality of professional service to all those citizen’s who reside in, and visit our community, and to protect lives and property through emergency and non-emergency services as well as training, education and fire prevention.
The Career Division operates out of Fire Headquarters at Station 2. The Department has a full time staff of 13, which is headed by the Municipal Fire Chief. The Department also includes 4 Captains and 8 Firefighters. It is also supplemented by a part-time staff of Firefighter/EMT’s.
The ambulance is staffed 24/7/365 with Career Firefighter/EMT’s.
The Career staff are not only qualified in firefighting operations, but are also certified Emergency Medical Technicians. They are also trained in technical rope rescue, vehicle extrication, hazardous materials operations and open water rescue.
Station 2 operates a 75’ E-One Quint, 3 BLS Ambulances, a Light Rescue Unit and a Utility vehicle used for severe weather and water rescue. Part of this combination department also includes 2 Volunteer Stations.
The Career Division is quite involved in many fire prevention activities, sponsorship of local youth sports teams, Burn Foundation and Cape May County Make-A-Wish Foundation fund raising, assisting families that have experienced a fire loss and sponsorship of the Charles R. Cripps Memorial Scholarship for local high school students.
